The Australian Oilskin coat has
been developed over two centuries, from it’s humble beginning as the monsoon
cape used by the sailors of the great oceans, to the pioneering drovers of
today. Continually battling the harsh elements of the Australian Outback,
they developed a certain rugged outback style of clothing to protect them
from the cold and drenching rain.
The Down Under Oilskin coat
fabric is made of a tightly woven cloth that is impregnated with a hot solution
of specialized oils and waxes to ensure maximum snow, wind and rain protection.
Unlike many synthetics, it has a very natural feel and excellent breath ability.
Oilskin is your ideal choice when looking for a riding coat, duster or work coat or just

This legendary oilskin coat may be the toughest 100% waterproof coat ever built. The 16 oz. oilskin fabric is finely woven, then double-oiled and waxed for additional rain, wind and snow protection. This coat features a removable shoulder cape, reinforced elbows, large cargo and hand warmer pockets, saddle gusset and leg straps.
